The Children’s Book Council of Australia has awarded our best children’s authors and illustrators for over 70 years. Now it’s our children’s turn.
Students from all over Canberra and the region have shown us their amazing talent. We received over 280 beautiful picture and story books from students in Year 1 up to Year 8 in the inaugural Make Your Own Story Book competition.
Some of these entries now on display at Libraries ACT until 28 October 2016.
- Southside schools at Tuggeranong Library.
- Inner North schools at Dickson Library.
- Belconnen and Gungahlin schools at Belconnen Library.
The very best of these entries will be awarded at a special presentation featuring legendary Australian author, check Jackie French, during ACT Children’s Week celebrations.
The students’ artistic skill promises great visual imagery and Jackie French is an articulate and passionate speaker who attracts a high level of interest from the public. Our thousands of teachers and families are also interested in stories about generating interest in literacy for children.
